Notes: park where some people (not me) found lots of shark's teeth. Beach on the Chesapeake Bay, for those not afraid of jelly fish.

Notes: Unique prairie ecosystem. Unique beautiful plants. Preferably visit in September when they are in bloom. Visit the Nature Center.
Warnings: Huge number of Dog Ticks!!! I got 100+ on me. Spray your clothes with permethrin, wear sprayed gaiters, don't go off trail.

Notes: It's best to see this park between the end of the spring and beginning of the fall, when all the visitor centers and museums are opened. C&O Canal is pretty there.

Notes: the place to see bald eagles and ospreys. Great place for kayaking and biking. The elevation profile shows driving in addition to hiking.
Warnings: bring knee-high rubber boots - some trails may be very wet. Don't go there in the summer - nasty flies.

Notes: This is a commercialized park due to its huge golf course, multistory hotel and big lake. Thus, it's better to visit it in the winter. Notice Mason-Dixon marker the overlooks and the raptor place.

Notes: The visitors center is very informative. This was the first time I used my 35x zoom camera.
Warnings:
It's a research center, not a hiking place. They let people hike in
certain areas, but only during limited time.
