Hikes in this section are organized North to South and then by date
There are two big hike groups in the Southern Section: one starting with Brown Mountain and the other including Austin and/or Furnace mountain. I put separator lines to distinguish between them
Hike 1. Conley Cabin
Club: My scouting with Shelley and Brad
Date: 05/07/2004
Parking: need at least an all-wheel-drive. May need one with a good clearance.
Topo! Mid-Atlantic Trace: ConleyCabin_GPS20040507.tpo
Description File: ConleyCabin_GPS20040507.doc
GPS TrackMaker Trace: ConleyCabin_GPS20040507.gtm
Notes: There are supposed to be trails near the cabin. Would be interesting to explore.
Photo Album: ConleyCabin_GPS20040507
Warnings: I included this as a hike even though it's just a walk to the cabin. Reason being, it's a good place to stay when you want to explore Southern Shenandoah Park. This trace is supposed to make it easier at least in terms of not getting lost while walking there.
Hike 2. Smith Roach Gap Cemetery
Club: PATC with Len Wheat leading and Bob Pickett organizing
Date: 11/17/2007
Parking: good
Topo! Mid-Atlantic Trace: SmithRoachGapCemetery_GPS20071117.tpo
